Whether you seek adventure in the great outdoors, local tourism destinations for your photo album, or you just want to find a good place to shop for groceries, we’ve got some destinations that you might want to consider visiting.

Great Sand Dunes State Park

Sink into the highest mountains of sand in North America. Nestled in a spot where the Sangre de Cristo Mountains buckle inward, the dunes within the borders of Great Sand Dunes National Park have been building and sifting for eons — the result of the San Luis Valley’s unique wind patterns.

Lathrop State Park

The park’s two lakes offer a variety of boating and angling opportunities for all types of water recreation.

Taos Ski Valley

Right up the mountains North of Taos is the Taos Ski Valley. If you’re looking for a nice Winter getaway, look no further than the Taos Ski Valley. With resort style amenities and slopes for you to bullet down on a snowboard or pair of skis, there’s a good time up here for everyone.

Taos Pueblo

It takes time to explore 1000 years of history. The only living Native American community designated both a World Heritage Site by United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and a National Historic Landmark is Taos Pueblo. The multi-storied adobe dwellings have been continuously inhabited for over 1000 years.

Taos Pueblo

It takes time to explore 1000 years of history. The only living Native American community designated both a World Heritage Site by United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and a National Historic Landmark is Taos Pueblo. The multi-storied adobe dwellings have been continuously inhabited for over 1000 years.

Shrine of the Stations of the Cross

Perched high atop a mesa in the center of town, rests the beautiful Shrine of the Stations of the Cross. Prominently placed for all to see, this Spanish-Moorish style adobe church was built as an act of love for the people of the area. It was built to be a place of prayer and worship for all those who seek consolation and peace in their life.

Shopping

San Luis

The most convenient place to visit, San Luis is a quaint little town located just 10 miles north of the Little Norway Estates. If you’re in need of some quick groceries or just want to have some Mexican or Pizza, San Luis is spot for you. 

Alamosa

For those seeking a place a bit more populated, Alamosa is the place for you. There is shopping, restaurants, and a whole lot more! If you’re planning on heading up towards the Great Dunes, this is the perfect place to stop for some supplies on the way.

Walsenburg

Walsenburg is a historic southern front range community with plenty to offer the recreation seeker. It’s the northern most town on the Highway of Legends, a national scenic byway. With a good-sized downtown area and plenty of shops, there’s plenty to see and do here.

Taos

Taos isn’t just a place you go skiing or finding old pueblos. There is a gorgeous downtown area filled to the brim with small shops, grocery stores, and restaurants. If you ever want to venture down into New Mexico, be sure to stop here.
